Devanha Deck

Library

The Library has a handsome range of books, CD books, and a cosy reading room

Raffles Lounge & Bar

An Elegant Lounge overlooking the Atrium. Coffee and Belgium Chocolates is the speciality!

Vanderbilt’s Card Room

The card room is in sections. These rooms are used for organised games only, thus, do not try it for a game of your own, you’d be stared, cose to being forced out of the room, in what I would call, in the rudest of manners. Thus, if you wish to play a game on your own or with friends, head for a lounge and leave this unfriendly room!

 The Playhouse - Cinema

The Playhouse is the ships cinema. However, it is also used at night for Classical Concerts and Lectures during the day

Café Bordeaux

This is the ships 24 hour dinning facility. Unlike most ships, including the Oriana, this facility is far too formal in its operations. You have to wait at the entrance to be taken by a waiter to the table he appoints, then it is full waiter service, no looking at the hot or cold buffet for a quick snack, no you must choose from the set menu. Foods on offer are pre made and you cannot alter the dish on the menu. Give me Oriana’s Al Fresco’s any day!

However, having said all that, it is a beautiful room with its circular ceiling feature and staircase down to Promenade Deck, but as the room is indoors it has no exterior views.

Children’s Facilities

Further aft is the superb children’s and teenage facilities, complete with Decibel’s disco, Intergalactica computer games room, Jumping Jacks and the Toybox. Out on deck there is a swimming and wading pool, as well as a Jacuzzi. On the world cruise there are generally few children onboard, but those who were there had a ball! Aurora operated European cruises out of Southampton between April and December. During this time she is a popular ship with families, as her facilities are perfect for the young ones, be they babes or teens!
