Although PV Ocean Mist looks as modern as tomorrow
she has a genuine classic heritage and has acres of teak decks and rich
interiors of polished wood and gleaming brass. She was built as the elegant
Italian liner MV San Giorgio by one of the most famed Italian ship yards,
“Cant. Riuniti dell’
Adriatico” in Trieste, who also built such great liners as the 45,000-ton
grand sisters that were revolutionary and the ultimate in modern design, the SS
Michelangelo and Raffaello.
Ocean mist was later transformed to become a fine
cruise ship and she has become famed for her intimate atmosphere and she is
more akin to a private yacht compared to today’s rather large cruise
ships. For this reason, passengers get to know their fellow travellers. Ocean
Mist is fully stabilised and air-conditioned throughout and is ideal for
cruising close to shore, visiting intriguing ports that is inaccessible to
larger ships. More importantly with only a small number of passengers on board
there is no danger of overwhelming the character and the delicate ecosystem of
the places visited, thus preserving the experience sought after.
On board facilities offers what is expected from a total resort style cruise ship comfortable accommodations all with private facilities. Then there is a fine range of lounges and bars such as the superb Marco Polo Lounge, Explorer Bar, Starlight Nightclub and Piano Bar, the Lido Bar, The Belvedere Restaurant, Library, Boutique, Beauty Salon, Swimming Pool, Sauna, Gym, Tourist Office, a Medical Centre and a lift.
PV Ocean Mist has received a comprehensive refit late
in 2009 and she has commenced her new duties cruising from
