Introducing

MV Seabourn Odyssey, Sojourn & Quest

Including a Photo Gallery

Please Note: Most lounges and venues on all three ships may be very similar, however there are obviuous differences, especially on the last of thye trio the Seabourn Quest. But at large, Seabourn has retained thatb elegant similar feel on al their ships, thus no matter which ship you sail on you will always feel comfortable and very much like you are returning to that friendly familiar place!

The luxurious 32,000 ton MV Seabourn Odyssey

When Seabourn was founded in 1987, the company clearly established the philosophy to create nothing less than a totally new concept of cruising, a cruise line that had absolute dedication to the highest level of personal service, equal to that would be found in most celebrated of hotels, resorts and restaurants around the world. The rule was spaciousness and elegance, with an ambiance that allows pampered guests to establish their own pace befitting their own varied lifestyles.

The first of two new, ultra luxury Seabourn Yachts was the Seabourn Odyssey which was built at a cost of US$250 million and she was delivered in the spring of 2009 and has already given so much pleasure to many who delight in the art of luxury cruising! Then her sister the Seabourn Sojourn arrived in June 2010,  and now the last of the trio the Seabourn Quest arrives on the scene when she is officially named in Barcelona on June 20.

These three sublime 32,000-ton ships each accommodate its guests in 225 luxury suites, with ninety percent of the suites having private verandas. Combined, these ships have more than doubled the Seabourn’s current fleet, which now operated six ships, three of the intimate class and the three new slightly larger vessls, but all remain intimate and offer the same Seabourn luxuries!

According to Mr. Micky Arison, Chairman and CEO of Carnival Corporation & plc, when he spoke in relation to having these ships werebuilt; “This order represents our confidence in the luxury segment of the cruising market, which has shown significant and consistent revenue growth in recent years, with robust future potential. Through our own and independent research, we know that the luxury consumer views the Seabourn brand as the absolute ultimate in leisure travel. This new generation of yacht-like ships will secure its position at the top of the cruise industry pyramid for many years to come.”

These ships have been specifically designed to enable Seabourn’s award-winning staff to deliver the highly personalized service experience which is as the author knows well, is a hallmark of the brand. Seabourn President M/s Natansohn said, “They will be spacious, with the sleek lines and relaxed, personal feel of an oversized yacht. We’ve essentially taken the signature elements of our existing three yachts and added some exciting new features that the larger hulls will allow.”

Seabourn Odyssey, Sojourn and Quest are 650 feet long and are 84 feet wide, and they have a draft of 21 feet. The ships are powered by diesel-generated electricity and operate with twin screw propellers, with a service speed of 19 knots. Like all modern vessels, they are equipped with two bow thrusters to enhance manoeuvrability and they have two stabilizers. Another innovation is that these ships are “green ships” employing advanced wastewater treatment technology.

M/s Natansohn said that past guests and luxury-selling travel agents worldwide will be ecstatic at the word of new ships for the brand. “The Yachts of Seabourn have always been the highest-rated ships in the world when it comes to cuisine and service,” she stated. “With an increased ability to deliver Seabourn’s superior cruise experience to even more travellers, on state-of-the-art vessels, we will continue to define the standard for ultra luxury cruising.”

Cruise & Travel Agents have named Seabourn as …

“Simply the Best”

The intimate yachts of Seabourn Cruises sail the world with guests (passengers) who love to cruise in an atmosphere that is unique in the cruise industry today. You can luxuriate in the uncompromising splendour of any of the unique Seabourn Yachts. You can be assured of being pampered with award winning personalized service while relaxing on their cruise ships. The social whirl of gala evenings and gourmet candlelit dinners served under the stars are a highlight of a Seabourn voyage. Seabourn cruises are perfect for the cruise connoisseur who expects the very best of everything!

Past passengers have told us that the Seabourn ships take cruising to a new level, offering all the luxuries of the large cruise lines, but having the intimacy of a yacht-like vessel and this includes the new and somewhat larger Seabourn Odyssey.

MV Seabourn Sojourn

One of her past guests told me in an email. “Although she is larger than the Legend we sailed on two years ago, and that was a wonderful experience, the Odyssey feels amazingly small and intimate that you would never know you are on a larger 30,000 ton ship. She is a wonderful ship and we will sail on her and on the new ship when she arrives in 2010.”

Seabourn has many fine features on offer, including the famed “Exclusive Seabourn” complimentary on shore experiences that is a private behind the scenes event, custom-designed just for Seabourn guests. In addition, once you have completed your first Seabourn voyage, you will be automatically enrolled in the “Seabourn Club” that is reserved exclusively for past guests. The club features special rewards and incentives designed to make your future cruise with Seabourn even better value.

But, when it comes down to it, no matter what you wish to see in the world, and wherever you sail, “The Yachts of Seabourn” will take you on the voyage that will not be easily be forgotten, for it Seabourn has been rated as “Simply the Best!”

MV Seabourn Odyssey, Sojourn & Quest have a vast variety of itineraries that are worth discovering and I suggest that you visit your travel agent or the Seabourn Yachts website.
