Open Decks & Pools
Oriana has an impressive amount of deck
space, from the covered Promenade Deck, Terrance pool, Jacuzzi and
Children’s pool and play area on Deck 8, the aft decks on Decks 9, 10 and
11. The vast deck space on Deck 12, containing the Terrace Bar, Crystal Pool,
Riviera Pool and Bar the deck tennis court and viewing
deck forward. On Deck 13 is the Jogging/walking Track and general sports deck,
including golf nets, tennis court and shuffle board, etc. Deck 14forwrd is the
perfect observation deck for port arrivals.

This
pool is advertised in all P&O literature, DVD’s
and Video’s as the longest pool on any ship. This is a joke, as the great
big stainless steel barrier seen in this photograph shows that it divides the
pool into two small pools. It cannot be said that it is there for wave
protection, for on 40 of our 42 days on Oriana we had flat, and I mean flat
seas with glorious sunshine. Only on 1 ½ days did we see a little weather, That is on the evening prior to Hong Kong and the day on the
Atlantic.

However, if you are interested in a cruise, I
am happy to refer you to a dedicated cruise agent in Australia,
New Zealand
or further afield on my recommended “cruise agents” page, for these
are agents that specialise in cruising and they will be able offer excellent
service you and the best fares available! Be assured, I do NOT receive any
commissions or favours from these agents, and in the vast majority of cases
these agents will not even be aware of my, or mu site’s involvement, as I
provide the enquirer with the requested information of the agents (in their
region) including their contact details. Reuben Goossens.
