Please Note: Cruise-Australia is a
non-commercial and privately owned cruise site. I have been in the passenger
shipping industry since 1960 and I am currently retired, but continue to write
cruise & ship reviews and write articles to inform cruise & ship
enthusiasts to provide information for those intending a cruise. If you are
interested in a cruise, I am happy to refer you to a dedicated cruise agent in Australia or New Zealand, agents that
specialises in cruising and who will be able to best to advise you and offer
the best fares possible. Be assured, I do NOT receive a commission from these
agents, and in the majority of cases these agents will not be aware of my
involvement as I provide the enquirer with the requested information and the
agents (in their region) contact details. Or you can visit my recommended AGENTS
page for their direct contact details.
Photographs
of the Pacific Dawn on the following three pages came about from a cruise
undertaken on her by my cruise-australia.net associate who has sailed on other
P&O cruises as well as with other companies. I asked if he would make a
photographic record of the ship and he has done an excellent job and I am sure
that you will enjoy exploring this fine ship, a ship that all
Australian’s have the opportunity to sail on as she is now permanently
based in Brisbane.
However all copy, except certain quotations are by me, Reuben Goossens.
With the arrival of the Pacific Dawn in Australia
came a whole new style of quality cruising available to all, as P&O offer excellent
inclusive fares. Remarking on his cruise, Kosta Specis said; “I did not
believe that I was really on a P&O Cruise, it seemed that P&O have
become like a new product and it is now far superior to anything found in the
past, although I am a long time P&O supporter, but this (speaking
of the Pacific Dawn) is the product we have come to expect.
The British get it with ships like the Oriana and Aurora, but now
finally we are getting a ship that is worthy. I am sure that P&O
will not only keep up this standard but will even enhance it even further in
the future. The cruise was far beyond my expectations!”
Mr. Specis and his travelling companion, as well as
countless others who have emailed the author of cruise-australia have raved
about every aspect of the ship, such as the friendliness of the crew, the
superb service, food, entertainment and so on. Thus, the people have spoken,
now as you will see from the photographs, which have been taken by real people
and not by clever professional photographers employed by a media company, you
will see that the Pacific Dawn is indeed everything we say she is, simply
magnificent, therefore is it not time you picked up a copy of the latest
P&O brochure and book your next cruise vacation?
Let’s start from the naming of the Pacific Dawn

Page One & Two highlights the Atrium &
its facilities
Obviously the Atrium on the Pacific Dawn is the
heart of the ship and it contains various venues and lounges as well as all the
shopping galleries. This grand Atrium will be one of the first venues you will
encounter as you board and you will marvel at the water feature and the pond
down on the lower level, the magnificent pond carpet and the dolphin sculpture
on the back wall of the Pursers Desk. Enjoy these images, and just dream of
yourself sitting in these delightful surroundings!
