Page Two highlights the Atrium & Promenade Deck

We continue with the Atrium as we head upstairs to Emerald Deck via the Grand Staircase with its waterfall, fine murals, shopping Galleries and lounge area’s. Although Pacific Dawn has a host of fine lounges and facilities, the Atrium will be one place where you will want to spend time relaxing!

As we wonder up the stairs you are greeted by fine timbers and superb Italian murals

Crown Jewell’s on Emerald Deck is the hub of fine shopping, Jewels, watches, perfumes all at Duty Free prices

Bacchus Bar again features two elegant murals, again reminding us of this ship’s fine Italian heritage

Looking to aft of the ship with the Photoshop doors closed, the ships Gift Shop is located starboard (to the left of picture & seen below)

 Promenade Deck

We now commence a tour of the Promenade Deck Lounges, Bars, The International Showroom and the ships main Restaurant. Thankfully, unlike her predecessor, the Pacific Sun, Pacific Dawn has a genuine Promenade Deck to stroll along, something that cruise lovers have missed and are happy to see back according to the hundreds of emails I have personally received. P&O should keep this in mind, as old Carnival ships do NOT tend to make the grade in Australia. They are nice ships there is no doubts about that, but they are ships without a promenade, it is fine for the Yanks (just give them a balcony and keep them in a port every single day and they are happy), but it is not good enough for Australian’s and New Zealanders!!! But, now we have a ship that fits our climate and standard perfectly! In addition in December 2009 Pacific Dawn’s sister ship the ex Crown Princess, which will be renamed Pacific Jewel will be permanently based in Brisbane. Although her interiors are quite different. See: Pacific Jewel

I will commence from the front of Promenade Deck and visit each venue, except the main restaurant, which I will deal with under a separate heading. I will conclude with several images of the Promenade Deck itself.

These four photographs provide a good view of the massive, multi level International Show Lounge

The Atrium – located here is the Photoshop, Gift Shop and the delightful Bacchus Bar

Long hallways on both sides of the ship lead from the Atrium past the Bengal Lounge & Promenade Lounge to the main restaurant

The Bengal Lounge & bar has that touch of British India

Bengal Lounge bandstand and dance floor – the place for leisure & music during the day and to dance the night away!

A magnificent sculpture

Promenade Lounge the venue for many of the daytime indoor activities

Baby grand surrounded by further superb murals Pacific Dawn will become famed for!

Above & Below: Traditional wide teak planked decks are a mark of a good ship!
